چکیده

ISOKAWA, TODA and KUBOTA[1] etched fractured human dentin surfaces with a weak acid and observed that a part of the peritubular zone persisted as a recognizable tubular structure. The inner hypomineralized layer (SHROFF, WILLIAMSON and BERTAUD [2], SHROFF et al. [3] and TAKUMA [4]) which appeared in the tubular structure was assumed to play an important role. ISOKAWA et al. [1] also presumed differences in acid etching according to the kind of teeth and the site of dentin of the same teeth. In the present study, the influence of acid etching was studied in attrited and non-attrited teeth. It was concluded that the sclerosis of the dentinal tubules and the reprecipitation of crystals due to acid plays an important role in the formation of the tubular structure.

Peritubular hypercalcified zone of mammalian dentin.

According to FUJITA (1957) and TAKUMA (1960), the structure of the dentinal tubule wall in human dentin has been studied by KOLLIKER, NEUMANN, WALKHOFF, FLEISCHMANN, HANAZAWA, MEYER and ORBAN. Recently, TAKUMA and TSUCHIKURA (1950) found by means of the electron microscope that the dentinal tubules were lined with a hypercalcified area, and designated it as peritubular hypercalcified matrix. Th...

Decreased dentin tubules density and reduced thickness of peritubular dentin in hyperbilirubinemia-related green teeth

BACKGROUND It is stated anecdotally that patients with liver diseases in childhood who develop green teeth have increased risk for rampant caries, which may be secondary to changes in dental structure. The aim of this study was to test the hypothesis that hyperbilirubinemia affects the dentin morphology of green teeth. MATERIAL AND METHODS Sixteen primary teeth were prepared and divided into ...

Influence of different etching times on dentin surface morphology.

The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of different etching times on demineralized dentin surface morphology using scanning electron microscopy and qualitative line microanalysis of chemical structure. Two sample groups, consisting of 30 first premolar teeth in each group, were established. Teeth were cut at the half-distance between the enamel-dentin junction and the pulp. The f...

مطالعه ساختار بافتی و محتویات معدنی عاج ساخته شده با استفاده از ژلاتین ماتریکس استخوانی داخل غضروفی در خرگوش

Recently, inductive materials have been used for accelerating pulp cells and differentiation of odontoblast cells for regenerating secondary dentin. Bone Morphogenic Protein (BMP) is one of these materials. Endochondral Bone Matrix Gelatin (Ec BMG) has been used less than others. This study was designed to evaluate dentin formation by Ec BMG in rabbit. Ec BMG was prepared"from tibia and femur o...

The composition of bovine peritubular dentin: matching TOF-SIMS, scanning electron microscopy and biochemical component distributions. New light on peritubular dentin function.

Peritubular dentin (PTD) is a hypermineralized phase within the dentinal tubules in some vertebrate teeth as an interface between the intertubular dentin (ITD) and the cell processes. Our aim has been to understand the composition, structure and role of PTD as a mineralized tissue. We have utilized the technique of time of flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (TOF-SIMS) to map the distributio...
